Going to graduate school to become Human

Within 5 minutes of arriving at the gracious home of Zia & Shakeela Hassan, Shakeela and I were drinking tea and in the thick of a theological discussion. I am in the right place.

We both share a commitment to interfaith dialogue. She's working on a 3-part series about sound and the three Abrahamic religions, Sounds of Faith. I am in the right place.

The kitchen wall has a rug from her native Pakistan that is a mandala. I am in the right place.
A quote from her granddaughter supplies the title for today's blog. It describes how I feel being in seminary, coming to Chicago, and working towards a Masters of Divinity.

Here are pictures of the Hassan's house, my 3rd floor apartment, the 1st UU church half a block away, and a doorway at Meadville Lombard.
